Randomized Experiment
A randomized experiment assigns treatment using a random mechanism. Because treatment assignment is not determined by unit characteristics, it helps balance observed and unobserved factors on average and makes causal claims more credible.
In STA305, randomized experiments are the baseline setting for randomization inference and later for causal inference.
