Observational Study
An observational study does not control treatment assignment. Units receive treatment through real-world processes rather than an explicit random mechanism.
Because assignment may depend on characteristics related to outcomes, observational studies are vulnerable to confounding and generally require stronger assumptions than randomized experiments for causal interpretation.
